Tour Information
This Island is known for its mysterious disappearances and strange deaths raised over its history. During the days of whales and pirates in the eighteenth century, a wooden box served as the mailbox for the sailing ships that passed, the messages could be collected and delivered to the countries of origin. This mailbox still exists and is being used mainly by tourists visiting the site, appropriately named “Bahía de los Correos” of Post Office Bay.
Farming is the main livelihood for the locals, however, nature tourism is contributing to the generation of new sources of employment.
