• Located at Entre Rios, in the Guayaquil – Samborondón, just 30 minutes from the city.
• Here the lifestyle of our ancestors is recreated. Guayaquil Historical Park was created on the initiative of the Central Bank of Ecuador in order to preserve for future generations the best of the wildlife, traditions and ancient urban architecture of this seaside town. It is in these three categories the park has been divided in order to show the importance and cultural value of each of them:
• Wildlife zone: The path and its many theme-specific areas provide an opportunity to witness the region´s natural diversity, including many species of flora and fauna, some of which are at risk of extinction. Four typical regional ecosystems have been recreated in a 3-hectare space: Tropical Dry Forest, Mangrove Forest, Floodplain Forest (Wetlands), and Drizzle Forest.
• Urban architecture zone: You will be brought back to the urban environment of the early 20th century of Guayaquil following the devastasting fire of 1896. This zone features buildings of historical and architectural significance built in the early century that were dismantled and conserved in the 1980s and transferred to the park. Together with malecón (esplanade) 1900, the water terminal, street lighting, the horsecar and characters dressed in period fashion, these buildings help recreate the Guayaquil of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
